3D Printing is the creation of physical objects directly from CAD data. Thanks to rapid advances in 3D Printing, it is becoming one of the easiest and most cost-effective options for the production of prototypes and small production runs.
In this course you will learn how to import, modify and print 3D objects using the MakerBot Desktop® Software, as well as how to setup and successfully complete a print job. The courses covers the usage of two Makerbots available at Makerspace, the Makerbot® 5th Generation & Model 2x.
This course is a MakerSpace Safety and Basic Functions Course (SBFC), and is a prerequisite for members who wish to operate this machine(s).

Course Duration: 2 Hours
Minimum Age: 12 Years
During class, all 12- to 18-year-old students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also enrolled in the class.
When using the laser cutter after taking the class, 12- to 16-year-old members must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian who has passed the SBU. Members 16-18 years old must have a letter of authorization from their parents in order to use the laser cutters.
Safety requirements: Closed shoes must be worn at all times in Makerspace, and is a requirement for entry.
