In the last 20 years, DNA sequencing technologies have improved exponentially. Bio.Kitchen and Briefcase Biotec GmbH present you worlds first DNA desktop synthesizer - the Kilobaser - which prints short stretches of DNA on command right in front of you on your lab bench. In the workshop you will learn how the device works, how to design a primer for your own PCR reaction and then print your own synthetic DNA from. We strongly recommend to visit Synbio 1 course before this one.
18 years. Pregnant woman are not allowed to enter the lab to avoid health risks.
English language skills
In the workshop closed shoes and long trousers must be worn at all times. In case of non-compliance the access to BioKitchen is denied. It is strongly recommended to take a Biosafety Introduction course before joining any other course in the lab.
