The Essemtec Fox automatic pick-and-place machine allows up to 180 feeder positions and places components onto your PCB (max. PCB size = 406 x 305 mm) with up to 7000 units/hour. Learn the basic handling of this complex pick-and-place machine, the operation of the reflow oven as well as the soldering paste printer, and learn how you can use these machines for your electronics small batch series.

Become a pick-and-place pro, piece by piece!

This course deals with the production of SMD assemblies with the help of a pick-and-place machine. You will learn the basics of different SMD packages, component handling (MSL level and ESD protection), solder paste printing, reflow soldering and the programming and proper use of our Essemtec pick-and-place machine. After successful participation in the course, you will be able to independently produce prototypes of complex electronic assemblies or small batch series.

You should have a basic knowledge of electrical engineering and PCB design.

Maximum PCB size: 406 x 305 mm.

Successful participation in the course is the prerequisite for using the Essemtec Fox pick-and-place machine independently at MakerSpace.

Minimum Age

  • 16 years
  • For adolescents between 16 and 18 years of age the consent of a parent is required.


Prerequisites

  • English language skills
  • Proficiency in a PCB design program, such as Autodesk EAGLE (EL-004 | PCB-Design mit Autodesk EAGLE) 


Safety Requirements

In the workshop closed shoes must be worn at all times. In case of non-compliance the access to MakerSpace is denied.
