G SW 002 E TIG Welding for Beginners B

G-SW-002E | TIG-Welding for Beginners (B)

TIG welding stands out from other fusion‑welding processes thanks to its precision, control, and consistently high weld quality. It is especially well‑suited for workpieces with thin wall thicknesses and is widely used whenever clean, reliable, and visually appealing welds are required. In this course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of TIG welding and build the confidence to apply the process safely and effectively.

No Weld, No Reward! – Introduction to TIG Welding

TIG welding is particularly well suited for workpieces with thin wall thicknesses and produces high‑quality, precise welds. It can be used to join steel and stainless steel, as well as non‑ferrous alloys such as aluminium, brass, or copper alloys. Compared to stick welding or MIG/MAG welding, TIG welding offers users much greater control over the welding process, resulting in stronger, cleaner, and more reliable welds.

In this safety and fundamentals course, you will learn how to operate a TIG welding machine and join steel pieces using clean, consistent weld beads. The course focuses on working with thin sheet metal. The TIG machine is suitable for material up to 12 mm, and with practice, you can weld a wide range of different metals.

This course focuses on welding steel and stainless steel.

Aluminium requires specific techniques that are not part of this introductory training

Please make sure to wear long sleeves, long trousers, and shoes made of leather or other flame‑resistant material.
This course is a prerequisite for independently using the TIG welding machines in the MakerSpace.
