What are the benefits of a makerspace membership?
During the membership period, members can access the workshop at any time during operating hours.

What is the 10-card?
With the purchase of the 10-pass, you can access the workshop 10 times within a period of 3 years.

What is a day pass?
This is a technical requirement for our access system and is not relevant for members. Day passes allow 10-pass holders to check how many days they still have access to.

When can I start?
You can start whenever you like. In the first month, we will only charge you for the days left until the end of the month. After that, we will charge your membership at the beginning of each month. You can upgrade or downgrade your membership at any time (e.g., from Maker to MakerPlus, or from MakerPlus to Maker). You can easily do all of this in your account. You can book our machines after successfully completing the respective course (see our price list).

How can I pay?
Credit Card: Enter your card details securely in your
account for automatic online payments.
PayPal: Conveniently pay online via your PayPal account.
SEPA Direct Debit: Just send an email (“I want to pay by direct debit, please.”) to rechnung@maker-space.de to set up this automatic payment option.Bank transfer: Invoices can simply be paid by bank transfer as well (necessary info on the invoice).
Credit or Debit Card payments at the front desk are also possible.
Cash payments are not accepted.
Term of notice
Cancellation policy: your membership is automatically renewed, so you don't have to worry about that! We'd love you to stay with us, but if you do want to leave, you're more than welcome to cancel your membership at the end of any month. However, that month has passed for at least one full calendar month. -
Which machines can I use and how often?
Successful completion of the relevant course is required to start using the machine (see our price list).
Depending on your membership, you will have access to the primary workshops (3D printing, laser cutting, textile, electronics) or all workshops (MakerPlus, 10er). Use of our machines is included in your membership, The total booking time per machine per day is limited. See the overview here (https://makerspace.spaces.nexudus.com/login) -
Are courses included in the membership?

How do I cancel a maschine booking?
No longer need the machine you booked? No problem! Cancel your booking directly from your account. This will ensure that other users can book the machine in time.

I'd love to know when I can access the workshops!
You're welcome to come and use the MakerSpace whenever it's open, and we'll do our best to fit you in! We do have to reserve the right to use the MakerSpace for events during our opening hours, but we'll do our best to fit in with your schedule. Just so you know, we take a two-week break each year to take an operational vacation, but we're always happy to welcome you back after that!

Do I get access to both locations?
Absolutely! With all our memberships, you'll have the chance to explore both Garching and Munich Urban Colab.

How do I reserve a machine?
Reserving a machine is a piece of cake! All you need to do to get your hands on a machine is complete the relevant course (see our price list). Then, you can make a booking online via your account.

I work at a company, what type of membership do you offer?
If you're using our machines for commercial projects and to sell products, we'd be happy to advise you about a company membership.

Do I have to be a member to book a course?
No, you don't need to be a member to book a course (see our price list). But you do need to have an account.

Is my membership card transferable?
Unfortunately, membership cards are non-transferable. For insurance reasons, we are also very strict in this matter and
carry out checks. If you pass your card on to someone else, we reserve the right to cancel your MakerSpace membership. -
What is Nexudus
Nexudus is our backend system where we manage all administrative tasks, including memberships, courses, and machine availability. To book machines or courses, a membership is required. You can explore your membership options here.

Can i bring a friend?
Yes, you can bring a friend. You will be given a guest card for 10 euros at reception. Please note that according to our workshop rules, guests are not allowed to work on the machines and should stay close to their friend.

When can I cancel my membership?
Memberships always apply to full calendar months. If a membership starts during a month (from the 2nd to the last day), that month is billed on a prorated basis, while the following month is charged in full. Cancellation is possible at the earliest by the end of the first full month.
