Membership & Pricing

  • A membership gives you access to our workshops. However, a MakerSpace membership does not automatically entitle you to use the machines.

  • By purchasing a Card of ten, you receive access to both workshops for up to ten days. The Card of ten is valid for three years.

  • Day pass is primarily a technical term used in our access system. It is required so that your membership card can open the doors on the day of your visit. This is generally not relevant to regular members in their day-to-day use.

With a Card of ten, the day passes correspond to your available access days. One day pass is used per day of attendance. You can see how many access days you have remaining in your User Account (Nexudus).

  • Your membership has a minimum term of 30 days and is then automatically renewed for one month at a time. If you would like to cancel, your cancellation must be submitted before the end of the current membership period. Otherwise, your membership will automatically renew.

Example: If your membership starts on January 15, cancel before February 15 to end it on February 15. The easiest way to cancel is through the User Portal (Nexudus).

  • The easiest way is through your User Account in Nexudus. You can cancel your membership there in just a few clicks. Please note: Your account will remain active. If you would like us to delete your account, please contact us by email or through the Help Desk.

  • No, but you can cancel your membership at any time and start a new one at a later date.

  • You can add either a credit card or your PayPal account to your User Account (Nexudus). To pay by SEPA direct debit, please email us at rechnung@maker-space.de. Invoices can also be paid by bank transfer.

Credit and debit card payments are also accepted at the Front Desk. We do not accept cash payments.

  • Yes. Invoices are automatically generated through Nexudus and sent to you by email. You can also view and download your invoices at any time under “Invoices” in your User Account (Nexudus).

  • Yes, we offer €50 gift vouchers. You can purchase them from the Store in your User Account.

The following conditions apply: vouchers can only be redeemed for courses, the customer must pay any difference, vouchers are valid for three years from the date of purchase, and only one voucher may be used per course.

After purchase, the voucher can be transferred to another person.

Access & Opening Hours

  • As a private member, you can start at any time. The minimum term of your membership is 30 days. Once you have a membership and have successfully completed the relevant course, you can book our machines.

  • You can access the MakerSpace during our opening hours. Occasionally, the MakerSpace may be reserved for events. Special opening hours are announced on the homepage of our website.

  • If your guest would like to work with you at the MakerSpace, they will need their own membership. If you would simply like to show someone around, you and your guest must register at the Front Desk. If time permits, we will be happy to give you and your guest a tour of the MakerSpace lasting no more than 15 minutes. Your guest must complete a liability waiver.

  • Young people between the ages of 12 and 16 may only visit the MakerSpace when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. For young people aged 16 to 17, we require a declaration of consent from a parent or legal guardian.

We do not offer courses for children under the age of 12. Children under 12 may only enter the workshop when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian—for example, as part of a tour. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, please contact our Front Desk Team in advance if you have any questions.

  • Parking is available for members at MakerSpace Garching.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide parking at the MakerSpace in the Munich Urban Colab. At the Munich Urban Colab, materials can be loaded and unloaded via the truck entrance, provided the loading or unloading time is kept short.

  • Yes. You can leave and re-enter the MakerSpace at any time during opening hours. Your day pass remains valid for the entire day. Both Garching and Munich also have a kitchen with a water dispenser, coffee machine, refrigerator and microwave.

  • When you visit for the first time, please check in at the Front Desk. Our team will welcome you and explain the most important rules. If you would like to use the machines, you will first need to book the relevant course. After completing it, you can get started.

We offer free tours of the MakerSpace Garching every Saturday at 2:00 p.m. You do not need to register in advance.

  • Yes, Wi-Fi is available at the MakerSpace. You can get the login details from the Front Desk or use the QR codes displayed on site.

Workshop

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are mandatory in the workshop. Loose or baggy clothing may not be permitted in certain areas. We provide protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection—ear defenders are available in limited quantities. During each course, you will learn which protective equipment is required for the relevant machine. Earplugs can be purchased from us.

  • Unfortunately not, as we do not have enough space. However, project spaces and lockers can be rented. Simply speak to our team at the Front Desk and we will help you find a suitable solution.

  • Yes, we offer a limited number of lockers. Please speak to our team at the Front Desk for information about the available options and conditions.

The lockers are available in various sizes. The largest locker measures 78 cm wide × 120 cm high × 86 cm deep.

  • Yes, you can bring your own materials. Please note, however, that not all materials are approved for use with our machines. If you bring your own materials, please have them checked by the Crew beforehand. During the courses, you will learn which materials may be used. If you are unsure, the Crew will be happy to help.

  • Yes, you can purchase small supplies such as adhesives, as well as wood and metal sheets, directly on site. During the relevant course, you will learn which materials are approved for each machine. If you are unsure, the Crew will be happy to help.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot provide a complete list of materials online. Feel free to visit the workshop to explore our range.

  • Please report any damage or irregularities immediately to the Crew in the workshop or at the Front Desk. You may be charged for damage caused by improper use. This is why completing the relevant course is mandatory before using a machine. We recommend having personal liability insurance.

  • The MakerSpace offers a variety of workshop areas, including 3D printing, laser cutting, textiles, electronics, woodworking and metalworking, as well as a waterjet cutter. You can develop prototypes, work on your own projects or simply try out new techniques—from individual components to complex products.

Feel free to take a look at our Maker Community Page.

  • New student members attend our monthly Kick-Off, which includes an introductory session and a tour. As a regular member, we recommend booking a suitable course straight away. There, you will learn how to use the relevant machine safely. Our Front Desk Team will be happy to help you get started.

Courses

  • Machine courses are not included in the Maker, MakerPlus or 10-Day Pass memberships and must be booked separately. With a Maker membership, €25 is credited towards one course booking per month; with a MakerPlus membership, the monthly credit is €50. This course credit may be changed or discontinued at any time without prior notice. There is no entitlement to this benefit.

  • No, courses can also be booked without a membership. However, you will need a membership if you want to use the machines after completing the course.

  • You can cancel up to 24 hours before the course begins. The best option is to call us directly on +49 89 541 98 70 060 or send us a support message through your User Account (Nexudus).

  • Unfortunately, we cannot provide the course materials in digital form.

  • Course vouchers are not displayed in Nexudus, but they are automatically applied during the booking process. If the amount due at checkout is €0, you can be sure that the voucher has been applied correctly.

  • No prior knowledge is required for our beginner courses. They are designed so that you can get started without any previous experience. All participants begin at the same level, regardless of any prior knowledge or certificates they may have. For advanced courses, we recommend completing the basic course first. Please refer to the relevant course description for details.
